Big Dreams, Busted Makeup (2013-2016)

2013: The DC Sisters was founded. Records from our earliest days are being gathered by carrier pigeon and spiritual mediums- if you have memories to share, we’d love to hear from you!

2014: The First steps

The Abbey’s first recorded steps into the community! In the final weeks of 2014, the DC Sisters made their first recorded
manifestations- 5 bar ministry appearances across the bars of our community. Five events. Six weeks. A mission begun.

• Nov 15 – Green Lantern’s Bears Can Dance (Bar Ministry)
• Nov 22 – Black Cat’s Gay “Bash” (Bar Ministry)
• Nov 28 – Green Lantern’s Rubber Up (Bar Ministry)
• Dec 5 – Green Lantern Otter Crossing (Bar Ministry)
• Dec 19 – Bear Happy Hour (Bar Ministry)

2015: Taking Root

2015 was a year of historic moments and deep roots. The DC Sisters stood at the Supreme Court as marriage equality became the law of the land, raised hundreds of dollars for community causes, and showed up at over 30 manifestations — a nearly sixfold leap from the year before!

2016: Making It Count

A focused year of impact. The DC Sisters raised over $2,150 for the Wanda Alston Foundation through just two events, proof that a smaller number of manifestations can carry enormous weight.
