Sister Felix Cupa

Abbess

Sister Felix Culpa heard the call at an early age but wasn’t sure who was calling.  Growing up in an ecumenical household, Felix learned the value of faith and caring for others.  Though as the baby of the family Felix doesn’t have much skill at taking care of others.

Sister took far too long to figure out a lot of things: education, career, and sexuality, to name a few.  Education and employment led her to a secular career as a librarian – the research kind, not the shush-y kind.

Along the way, Sister pursued amateur interests in the arts, working in theatre management, and performing in choral and instrumental ensembles.  Through these endeavors, Sister made many friends.

It was through theatre that she first learned about the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.  A play about Gay activist Harvey Milk included the character Sister Boom-Boom.  Many years later Felix met members of the newly formed House of Magnificent Intentions.  Eventually Felix sought to join the DC Sisters.

Sister chose her name – Felix Culpa – from a line in the Easter hymn of praise – the Exultet.  The Latin phrase is a reference to original sin – the felix culpa – the happy sin of Adam.

In her time with the DC Sisters, Felix has enjoyed working with her sisters and guards.  She has served as Mistress of the Quill and Abbess.
